Tomtebo Strand part of an initiative for a more gender-equal construction industry
The Municipality of Umeå’s Technical and Property Management Department is taking part in the research and development project Build Equal. The project aims to create a safer, more inclusive and more gender-equal construction and civil engineering industry.
Build Equal runs for three years and is carried out in collaboration with Luleå University of Technology.
Tomtebo Strand is one of the projects where the work will have a particular focus.
This gives us a great opportunity to continue the close collaboration in Tomtebo Strand while also contributing to a safer and more gender-equal construction industry. It is an important step towards our goal of becoming an international role model for sustainable urban development, says Malin Lagervall, Project Manager, Streets and Parks, Municipality of Umeå.
