Tomtebo strand will offer something for everyone, whether you want to enjoy a coffee at the square, relax in the park, or take a swim in the lake. The area welcomes everyone, from families with children to those moving away from home or those tired of living in detached houses. Here, we plan for sustainable living with vibrant squares, green parks, as well as natural paths and lovely walking and cycling routes.
With proximity to Umeå's central parts and unbeatable nature, it's easy to find favorite spots in and around Tomtebo Strand. Whether it's for an exciting meeting or to recharge your batteries.
Outdoor activities or relaxation. Maximum heart rate or active rest. On foot or on wheels.
No matter what you like best, it should be easy to enjoy nature experiences at Tomtebo Strand all year round. Tomtebo Strand will be naturally green - from neighbourhoods to forests and lakes. The neighborhood is being built in close proximity to the natural areas around Nydalasjön and the babbling Kolbäcken stream – places that are being utilized and preserved as the area develops.
Tomtebo strand is designed to make it easy to get where you need to go in a sustainable and safe way, without your own car.
The area has plans for wide, fast cycle paths with easy access to indoor and covered cycle parking. Public transport will offer a high level of service and centrally located stops. If you have your own car, then you will find parking garages located at the entrances to the neighborhood.
All the everyday services you need will be close by. Nursery schools, schools and retirement homes are being built in the area.
Just a stone's throw away, you'll find a well-stocked grocery store, pizzeria, convenience store, and a fitness facility. Within cycling distance, you'll find some of Umeå's largest workplaces, such as Umeå University and Norrland's University Hospital.
It should be easy to find your favorite spot at Tomtebo Strand, no matter who you are.
Everything from courtyards and meeting spaces to natural areas is designed to encourage community, gatherings, and new connections. It facilitates, whether your thing for the day is recharging with family or making the world a little better together with others.
A great deal is about sharing. For example, heat and cooling, which can be directed to the houses and businesses that need it most at any given time through smart systems. But also, about recycling wastewater and smart solutions that make cycling the natural choice for even more journeys.
Tomtebo Strand has a strategic location close to both the university and hospital area with its dynamic labour market and Nydala's recreational facilities. The city centre is approximately 3 kilometres away.
Tomtebo strand is an area for everyone. There's room for you - at all stages of life. Whether you're moving away from home, in the midst of life, or selling your villa. Tomtebo Strand is also an area with a strong sustainability profile. The area is suitable for those who want to enjoy all the benefits it offers but also for those who want to get involved with others in the sustainable transition.
